I'm pretty sure next year after you set your 15 keepers we will have another draft

Alright, here we go. First off, I gotta take my 3rd baseman before it's too late:

[7,12] Let it Sano: Todd Frazier (3B/1B)

He was a top-5 1st baseman last year, so I'm pleased to snag him this late, with both third and first eligibility.

I really struggled to find a guy that I liked here with my second pick (sorry for the wait!), but I ended up with this guy:

[8,1] Let it Sano: Kole Calhoun (OF)

Don't know a lot about him, but it looks like he hard a really nice year last year and will get a ton of runs, extra base hits, plus a bit of power. Taking a bit of a risk, I think, but hopefully it'll pay off

[8,3] South Side Hitmen: Jeff Samardzija (SP)

I know I gotta represent the Sox somehow, and Shark seems like a safe bet at this point in the draft. With a bolstered offense and bullpen, I think Shark will get a lot more run support/wins than he has in the past. As my #4 in the rotation, I'm satisfied with him. I'll really be rooting for him this year, and hopefully for the next few years as well.

I was debating Samardzija, but for as good as everyone always says he is, his record has never shown that to me. Hasn't had a winning record since 2011 when he was 8-4. I just don't really get all the excitement around him, especially his recent free agency signing

I dunno, I'm sure he'll be better with the Sox than with the Cubs, but a .385 career ERA and never a single-season WAR over 2.0, I just don't see it yet

Like Sam said, wins and losses for Samardzija the past few years don't mean jack. When you play for the Cubs, you're going to lose a bunch of games lol. I think he'll be much better in the win/loss column at the very least this year. Not to mention he is a good strikeout pitcher too. At this point, I don't see too much risk in him.

Actually he had a 3.7 WAR this season (you have to combine his 2014 Cubs & Athletics stats) but you are right about one thing, he has never compiled many wins which may be a useless stat in real life but is a vital stat in fantasy baseball. However, now that he is pitching for a team that gets more run support hopefully he'll get more wins.

My bad, Baseball Reference has a weird layout with WAR sometimes. But yeah, he should get more wins, I just need to see it first to see if he is really as good as everyone claims he is

Since it seems we've reached a halt in the draft, what do you all think as been the steal of the draft so far?

Here's a couple picks that stand out to me as great value for when they were picked:

Johnny Cueto- Round 3, pick 5
Carlos Gomez- Round 4, pick 1
Evan Longoria- Round 7, pick 10

There's a lot more picks that have been really good ones for where they were in the draft, but those are 3 players I think could have gone a lot earlier than they did

Going outside the box here but this is a guy I want locked up for years to come especially in the SS position so I don't want to chance him being gone later.

(8,4) Chicks Dig The Long Ball: Carlos Correa (SS)

He does strike out a lot, yes. But he also steals a lot of bases, hits 20+ HRs, and will get in 70+ RBIs. His ADP this year so far is 9th overall. So, I think getting him in the 4th round is a great steal

Short stops have been ridiculously thin the last few years. He's the one prospect that I want and didn't want to risk waiting.
