Number 5: 2016 Heritage Action BGS 10..great image on this one. I pulled 2 out of a case, both looked very clean. One came back a 9.5, this one came back a 10—as of this week, it is currently still a “Pop 1”, but, as always, I expect another 10 to get graded at some point:

Number 4: 2011 Prime Cuts RC /99. This card has a lot going against it: Panini unlicensed, what I call the “mall security camera” Trout face image, not much color..but, I bought 2 boxes of it on the floor at the 2012 National (I think the chase for the product was the Shoeless Joe Jackson bat barrel or knob card), and this card came out. In 2013 I put it out on a table at 3 straight Maryland shows (the “Slade Show” for you MD residents), and no one even asked about it once, so I decided to keep it. It’s like a “bad movie” that I just like and now won’t part with.

Thanks so much! I haven't seen one of those red minis in a long time.

Number 3: 2016 Topps The Mint “Image Variation” Auto..an enormously unpopular product, the Mint never really caught on with anyone. I’m one of the few on Earth who liked it. They had 10 different unnumbered “image variation” autos in the set, they were very rare. I pulled a Severino, and got this Trout on eBay shortly after release. There was one on eBay this past summer, and a couple at release that were listed. I estimate that there were 3-5 of each “image variation” printed.

Number 2: 2016 Topps Now Dual MVP Auto with K.Bryant..I’m not a fan of dual autos in general, but Bryant was red hot, I had the itch and pulled the trigger on this the same day as the Trout MVP solo auto/99. If Bryant just has a “solid” rest of his career, this card will prove to be a good one down the road.

And to conclude, my number 1: 2012 Topps Five Star Base Card number 27/80. Love the look of this card: The dirt on him, the running...it’s the inaugural Five Star release, only 80 base cards exist. When I opened the box, this card was on top. I saw it was jersey numbered, and got excited. Then I got disappointed because of the now famous condition flaws with the set, it looked like someone had dropped it on the corners 5 times. But, once I learned ALL cards from this set had the QC issues, I was OK. I’ll never grade it for obvious reasons, but it’s my favorite PC Trout card.

He helps Philly win a few …. especially if they spend this offseason with some FAs.

Well, I couldn’t narrow it down to 10, and probably could’ve done 30, as I like Trout stuff so much..anyhoo...I’ll start with number 12..2009 Bowman chrome refractor. I made this number 12 just to get it out of the way. An iconic card, every Trout collector should try to own one. I paid 2k for this one a couple of years ago before the “boom”:

11. 2016 Strata/50. Ripped a case of this on release day..this nice fish was in the last pack. Glad I didn’t stop! I love the design on these:

10. 2015 Bowman’s Best Atomic Refractor Auto..I really love the atomic look, and the Auto is nice and clean. Pulled this at the LCS a few weeks after release:

Going to take a little break, rest of the top 12 coming up soon!
Very nice top 12!

My favorites have to be 11 and 10. I’ve been trying to find a nicely priced 11 for over a year now, great picture/design! As for 10, I’ve been contemplating going for the rainbow, but I think I’ll have to wait until I’ve got more funds!

I could not find the total population (graded and non graded). Here is the pop report for graded ones-

Amazing card. These literally never show up. Even more amazing is that nobody even asked about it at 3 shows.

Default My only trout auto.

For the most part I only have one auto of most players. Here is my one Trout...a pack pulled auto from 2016 Topps Archives.

Love seeing these cards. The Panini Prime Cuts is phenomenal. I have also been looking for one of those but they are definitely in hiding. I like the idea of posting a list of favorites. I will try to get around to posting a few this weekend.

Keep 'em coming.
