the NBA rules-makers are presumably low-IQ enough not to anticipate how new LM rules can be gamed by teams. Is the LM defined in terms of games played, or minutes played?

on Hardwood Classics, how on earf do pre-1990 games have better video quality than post-1990 games? It's like they deliberately want to make MJ Finals games especially fuzzy, and this is a zero-trust environment (see also point 1 above)

btw I've seen pre-2007-ish games on the NFL channel that have no clarity problems, so until proven otherwise this looks deliberate sabotaging of a product by NBA

I mean the rumored package is Dick, OG, Precious and Ayton for Nurk to Phoenix and likely GTJ? I love it for Portland. Ayton, OG, Grant, Shaedon, Scoot is a hell of a young core.

Ayton isn’t young and he’s mediocre at best. OG is a fine glue guy… unless scoot is Ja 2.0 that roster is awful.

It is much better than Herro plus a few picks, I mean the Heat supposedly aren’t even offering Jaquez/Jovic/Martin for Dame.

Ayton was drafted 5 years ago, OG 6 and Grant almost a decade ago.

If they pull the trigger on this, it's because they are high on Dick and they plan to flip OG later. Not to mention there's no market for Lillard right now.

I'd much rather have Herro and picks.

OG has a player option next season and it's only 20M so he's gonna opt out and look for a big deal so you likely have him for a year and he's gone. Then you're just left holding the bag on Ayton and paying 33yo Jerami Grant 36M.

So Portland didn't want Herro because they had too many guards but accepted jrue holliday?

Portland didnt want the 2 1st round picks but preferred 1 first rd pick and 2 swaps?

I'm so confused..

Herro is 23 yr with contract til 2027 and Jrue is 33 yr with a player option next season.

Seems they could have done the same 3 team trade but with Herro

It doesnt makes any sense unless Portland is 100% sure they could trade Jrue for more assets. And that's a big IF due to Holliday contract 39m player option

It does make sense because they are 100% trading Jrue.

Quite a huge trade, didn't see it coming because I did not see Milwaukee giving up Jrue. Lot of mouths to feed now in Milwaukee but I think what we'll see is Giannis go DPOY mode since he doesn't have to carry such a load on offense. So they went from Jrue carrying the defense to Giannis, with Middleton and Dame providing plenty of shooting power. Tough to say if they got decidedly better, but feels like their ceiling is higher, right?

My comments were more on the portland side.
Its tough to move a 39million with a player option.

Boston can offer Brogdon plus fillers.

Chicago can offer Lonzo plus fillers.

Portland can shop for the best offer. Might not be great but there are going to be teams interested.

Amazing job by Portland's front office. Took a while and dealing with two teams but I didn't think they would be able to get that much for Lillard. And who know if they can flip Brogdon for a 2nd or something.

Makes even it funnier that people thought the Heat's offer was the best they could get. Lol.
