Didn't realize MVP going 10-10 FGs in the 3rd Q for 29 points was a 76ers record.

On a franchise that had Wilt, Doc, Moses, Barkley, Iverson and that one game Dana Barros hit a million threes, that is incredibly impressive.

'23-24 BPM for major figures so far:

Jokic - 13.5. Regressing to the mean for him would mean this will be about his average for the season. Might be inflated for a while as Alpaca nurses hamstring

Troel - 10.8. Last 2 seasons (regular season, that is) were 9.2. Regression to the mean will mean he'll slow down

Giannis - 0.2. Huh? On 26/9/3...

Luka - 7.3, which is down from around 8.5 the last couple seasons despite 31/9/9

Chef - 10.6. Didn't he start like this last year too?

Jimmy - 2.3
Bron - 5.3 (a tick lower than last season, a few ticks down from a couple seasons back)
KD - 2.8
Kawhi - 3.2
Dame - 0.8
CP3 at -0.7, he's like 38 now

1. It's downright bizarre to think winning basketball isn't entertaining. I suppose if winning basketball involved hitting mainly a bunch of 3s, then it wouldn't be so entertaining. (See GSW '17-18, although the main issue there was no close competitiveness.) Jokic does all kinds of crazy (hence entertaining) plays.

2. Shouldn't we all resolve not to give Embiid the time of day until the playoffs come around? If you wanna talk not so entertaining, how about someone putting up a bunch of empty stats against bottom-feeders

3. As flawed as BPM and other metrics arguably are, they're still good enough to give a reasonable picture of win-added value. Jokic has been that guy for 3+ seasons now and it hasn't been all that close. ('21 Playoffs Giannis has a claim. I can't think of anything else right off.)

4. Wouldn't the stathead/analytics holy grail be EPM data going back decades (since I think it better approximates value)

Another winnable game for the Mavs to keep rolling.

Soft start to the season schedule wise, which is great for confidence leading in to playing some tougher teams.

Yes I'm in heavy for Luka to win the MVP. Ah aha h
