Last week was horrific at work. The 5 - 10 minutes a day I had without having to do work, I ate lunch. The monthly reports were due along with the usual weekly reports, status musters, meetings, emergency meetings, and tons of e-mails, etc. Friday, I had 4 people leave and saved another 1. Like idiots, my company had already turned off 1 of those leaving accounts the day before and the 1 we saved, so I had to deal with that all day.

I've since had 4 more resignations I'm working on, 1 new employee starting, and all of the regular work to deal with. The only good thing is that I've had zero after hours calls.

I did have to get on a meeting on our way to vacation as wells as an emergency phone call as the prime contractor on my wife's contract asked for one of our employees to be walked off. Of course, I in no way, am the Program Manager for that contract, but since it is my boss, it became my issue to take care of.

Each day of our vacation, I've been online doing work for at least 2 hours a day and an additional 2 hours on 2 days for meetings.

What is the weirdest thing in your collection that actually has some value to it. By value I mean at least 50 or more dollars.

Mine is a teeny mates Aaron Judge crystal ice glow in the dark that sat in the package in my glove compartment because I didn’t know there were short prints in that stuff. Last one I saw was going for 60 dollars. I was going through some boxes and it was in one of them that’s why I brought it up.

Just got back from the movie and dinner. We had a great time on our first solo date. Her daughter ended up going off with family for the day, which was nice for us to spend some time with just us. She said her daughter said “as much as I want to go, I think I want to go with them. That way y'all can enjoy y’all’s date.”

I really don’t understand fireworks. I like them if I’m at a game or something and they have fireworks after, but I don’t understand buying them to shoot. It’s like lighting money on fire.

Past couple of hours? The idiots around here have been shooting them for weeks. We have a city ordinance stating that it is illegal and the penalty is a $500 fine per offense for shooting them outside of the permitted time, but like everything else here they don’t enforce it.

These same people shooting fireworks are the same people who never have money. Guess what they say is true about fools and their money.
